BJP protests against screening of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in Patna

India Blooms News Service | | 28 Oct 2016, 03:49 pm
Patna, Oct 28 (The Bihar Post/IBNS): BJP workers on Friday protested on the streets of Patna and burnt posters of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to protest its screening. They also blackened posters of the movie produced by Karan Johar.

Witnesses said the BJP workers gathered before Mona Talkies in Patna and shouted slogans before torching the posters and an effigy of Johar.

They were protesting the presence of Pakistan artists in the film. The film features Pak actor Fawad Khan.

As the attack on the Uri Army camp by Pakistan-based terrorists whipped up a wave of anti-Pak sentiment across the country, the  Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) decided  to stall the release of ‘ADHM’ in single screens across Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Gujarat on the ground that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is in the film.

Raj Thackeray-led MNS had also opposed the screening but withdrew its protests after the Producers’ Guild agreed to contribute a portion of the film revenue to the army welfare fund and pay tribute to the Uri martyrs before start of the film.
