J&K: BSF jawan killed in Pakistan firing

Srinagar, Oct 24 (IBNS): Heavy shelling and firing from the Pakistani side along the International Border in Jammu's RS Pura sector left at least one BSF jawan killed , media reports said on Monday.

The incident reportedly left three others injured.

Identifying the deceased head constable as Sushil Kumar of Pahova in Kurukshetra district of Haryana and the injured ASI as R D Puri, official sources told The Indian Express that the shelling was still ongoing.

Earlier, a BSF jawan, who was injured in Pakistan firing on the international border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, passed away in a hospital on Sunday, media reports said.

The jawan was identified as Gurnam Singh.

He was undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu.
