Uri, Sept 20 (IBNS): An infiltration bid was foiled as Indian Army jawans killed eight militants during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri on Tuesday, days after the town was hit by a terrorist strike on Sunday.

The terror attack in Uri on Sunday left 18 soldiers martyred.

Meanwhile, Pakistani troopers violated ceasefire again on Tuesday in Uri sector, reports said.

According to reports, 20 rounds were fired from small arms at the Indian post.

Indian force also retaliated, reports said.

Four terrorists, believed to have crossed the border from Pakistan, sneaked into the Army camp located near the LoC in Uri and launched the attack on Sunday.

The incident took place when most of the soldiers were asleep.

India has blamed Pakistan for the attack.
