In the run-up to Goa BRICS summit, NSA-level meeting begins at New Delhi

New Delhi, Sept 15 (IBNS) : The two-day meeting of Security Advisers of BRICS nations began in the national capital on Thursday to discuss the upcoming agenda for summit-level talks on October 15-16 in Goa.

India's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval chairs the meeting.

"Stronger security linkages with BRICS nations. NSA Doval chairs meeting of NSAs in Delhi in runup to @BRICS2016", External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

The Goa summit is expected to focus on terrorism, the Syria situation and developments related to the South China sea.

The BRICS comprises of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

According to media reports, Doval will also hold  bilateral talks with his Russian counterpart Nikolai Patrushev and Chinese State councillor Yang Jiechi on the sidelines.

All the NSAs will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well.
