Sino-India border personnel meet on Indian I-Day

Udhampur (J&K), Aug 15 (IBNS): A ceremonial Border Personal Meeting (BPM) on the occasion of 'Indian Independence Day' was conducted at Indian BPM huts at Chushul-Moldo and newly constructed BPM Hut at DBO-TWD meeting points of Eastern Ladakh on Monday.

The Indian delegations were led by Brigadier RS Raman and Brigadier V Yadav respectively.

The Chinese delegations were led by senior Colonel Fan Jun and senior Colonel Guo Kexie respectively.

The ceremonial meeting was marked by saluting the Indian National flag by both the delegations.

This was followed by ceremonial address by both delegation leaders which comprised of exchange of greetings, wishes and reaffirming the mutual desire of maintaining and improving relations at functional level at the border.

Thereafter, a culture programme showcasing Indian culture was organised with traditional grandeur.

Both the delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment.

The delegation parted amidst feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the LAC. 

Both sides also sought to build on the mutual feeling of upholding the treaties and agreement signed between the governments of the two sides to maintain peace and tranquility along the LAC.
