Assam yet to get Rs 11,591.72 cr from OIL,ONGC for crude oil royalty and interest: Minister

Guwagati, Aug 11 (IBNS): The Assam government is yet to get a total of Rs 11,591.72 crore worth of royalty and interest for crude oil from two PSU firms Oil India Limited (OIL) and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the last eight years.

State Mines and Minerals minister Pramila Rani Brahma on Thursday said in the Assam assembly that the government is yet to get the amount from the oil PSU’s as royalty and interest for crude oil.

Replying to a written query by Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) MLA Phani Bhusan Choudhury, the minister said that, the state government was to get a total of Rs 13,042.60 crore from OIL and ONGC as royalty and interest for crude oil from April 2008 to July 2016.

“Out of the total amount, the state government had received Rs 1449.88 crore from OIL and ONGC last week. But still to get Rs 11,591.72 crore,” the minister said.

Pramila Rani Brahma said that the royalty amount has been calculated on pre-discounted rate.
