Srinagar, June 15 (IBNS) Defence Minister Arun Jaitely on Sunday said he was happy to see prevalence of peace in Jammu and Kashmir while warning the forces across the border that ceasefire violations along the Line of Control or LoC must stop since it is in itself a 'Confidence Building Measure'.

Jaitley did not name Pakistan but said "there are forces which are inimical to India, which would not like peace to continue".

"Talks and aggression can't go together. For the situation to normalise, it is important for the ceasefire violations to stop," said  Jaitley.

Addressing a press conference at SKICC here, Jaitley said his visit was not political but to review security scenario related visit forward posts across LOC in Kashmir .

He said he met Army officials as well as State Governer NN Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

He said "we hope Kashmir will see peace and nothing more than that."

Appreciating the Army and state administration for conducting smooth and peaceful polling in the recent Parliamentary elections, he said he hoped that the assembly elections which is due at the end of this month will end peacefully.

Giving the details of visiting LOC at Uri he said he personally interacted with the army and that they are playing very important role to tackle infiltration.

Replying to a question on a video supposedly released by Al Qaida to start jihad in Kashmir against India, he said "we have instructed Army and all security agencies to take stock of situation regarding that issue and further stated that our forces are ready to tackle any such type of Emergency."

He said the Chinese incursion is continuing from last several years and hopefully there will be a solution to bring peace in the area.

Jaitley said that when he reaches "New Delhi today I will find myself happy as I witness complete peace in the region and tourists are on high."
