Mehbooba writes to Punjab CM over mutton traders' issue

| | Apr 30, 2016, at 04:39 am
Srinagar, Apr 29 (IBNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday wrote to her Punjab counterpart Parkash Singh Badal to take up the issue of harassment of her state's mutton traders and importers.
She has sought Badal's intervene in the matter.

Mehbooba Mufti said certain persons near Madhopur, in Punjab, realeased substantial amount of money from mutton dealers as special tax for transportation of livestock (sheep/goat), notwithstanding the fact that livestock are procured from neighbouring state of Rajasthan.

The Chief Minister requested Badal that since the mutton dealers are not getting support from police, necessary instructions should be issued to the concerned so that they are not harassed and no tax is charged from them for transportation of their livestock.
