1 person killed, several injured during poll violence in Assam

Guwahati, Apr 11 (IBNS) : At least one person was killed and several others were injured in poll violence in Assam on Monday.

According to the reports, a person was killed and six others, including security personnel, were injured during cane charge by CRPF jawan to voters at a polling station under Sorbhog assembly constituency in lower Assam.

Local people alleged that,CRPF jawan, who deployed at the polling station, cane charged upon voters after an incident.

During the clash between voters and security personnel, a person was killed and six others, including two security personnel, were injured.

Top police officials rushed to the area and later the situation was brought under control.

In separate incident, a woman was injured when a RPF jawan fired in air at a polling station near Nagarbera area.

On the other hand, a BJP candidate was injured during a clash between supporters of two political parties in Samaguri assembly constituency.
