Guwahati, Apr 9 (IBNS) : BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday accused Congress for protecting illegal Bangladeshis and using them as their vote bank.

Addressing a press conference held in Guwahati, Shah said the Congress has always protected illegal Bangladeshis in the state.

“The illegal Bangladeshi issue is a serious issue and it is a threat to the nation. But the Congress used them as their vote bank,” Shah said.

“We are concerned about the issue and we will solve it. The Indo-Bangla border to be sealed soon,” the BJP president said.

Shah attacked Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi over the illegal Bangladeshi issue and said both are silent on it.

On the other hand, the BJP president said that Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is the most corrupt politician in the entire county and it is proved in his last 15-year tenure in Assam.

“We have decided to probe all corruption cases of Gogoi government tenure including chit fund scam,” Shah said.
