Earthquake near Afghan border, north India feels tremor

New Delhi/Srinagar, Dec 26 (IBNS) An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit the border of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, while the tremors were felt in north India, including Jammu and Kashmir, said reports.

According to the US Geological Survey, the quake's location is 81 km southeast of Feyzabad in Afghanistan.

At around 12:45  the earthquake jolted Kashmir Valley, according to our correspondent.

According to reports people including women and children come out from homes and took shelter outside houses for about 15 minutes.

No loss of property or life was reported
