Three dead, six lakh affected in Assam flood

Guwahati, Aug 22 (IBNS) : Three people have died and six lakh people have been affected in the Assam flood as the Army is carrying our rescue and relief operations with state government agencies in the state's 19 districts.

Reports said more than  1,000 villages are submerged and the administration has a tasking time in reaching relief to the victims.

The army has so far rescued nearly 1,500 people, including children and infants. Army personnel are also distributing food in remote areas of the state.
