Video streaming giant YouTube has introduced an AI-powered playlist generator for its Premium subscribers, aiming to transform the way users discover and enjoy music.

According to a TechCrunch report, the new feature allows YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium users on iOS and Android to create personalized playlists using simple text or voice prompts.

Announcing the update on X, the handle Updates From YouTube said:
"YouTube Premium and @YouTubeMusic Premium users can now instantly turn an idea, mood or genre into a personalized playlist using our new AI playlist feature."

How to use the AI Playlist feature:

On Android or iOS, tap the “New” button in the Library tab of YouTube Music.

Select “AI Playlist.”

Use your voice or type a prompt describing the mood, genre, or type of music you want.

The AI tool then generates a customized playlist based on the user’s input, making music discovery faster and more intuitive.

YouTube joins rivals such as Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer, which have also introduced AI-powered playlist and radio creation features in recent months.
