US-based author entrepreneur Anirban Bhattacharya discusses his book, work and social concerns with Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee

Kolkata/IBNS: New Jersey (USA) based author and entrepreneur Anirban Andy Bhattacharyya, recently shared the dais with Kolkata’s interdisciplinary artist Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, at a programme titled ‘Pipe Dream’.

The main event was woven around the book, ‘The Ruins of Hope’, authored by Bhattacharya, where Chatterjee moderated the book reading session followed by a conversation with the author.

Bhattacharya who wears many hats, including that of an entrepreneur, adjunct faculty at Rutgers University, climate risk activist, a TEDx speaker, etc. has worked for and been an advisor to many global enterprises.

He holds six Intellectual Properties in Industrial and Business Automation.

Bhattacharya is the founder of Amploglobal, a company that works on sustainability issues, which were discussed by him at length.

Sudakshina Addy and Bhattacharya also spoke about their engagements with various non-government organisations (ngo).

A performance by children of sex workers and domestic helps residing around Kalighat area of south Kolkata was also held.

Bhattacharya also said that Amploglobal’s CSR team is working with an NGO, Jadavpur Bondhu Collective Social Welfare Society, based in Kalighat and run by Smritiparna Sengupta, which works for the betterment of these children.

Bhattacharya has launched an anti-sex trafficking non-profit organization (surindia.org), which nurtures and promotes talented yet vulnerable young students interested in vocal and instrument-based music and other subjects.

Bhattacharya, who is also involved with organizations such as ApneAap, Home of Hope, and Kolkata Foundation, has launched a social entrepreneurship framework for aspiring social startups.

Apart from penning ‘The Ruins of Hope’ which ranked as a best seller on Amazon, he has also authored a book named ‘Industry 5.0 and Data Economy’ and another titled ‘ESG and Data Monetization’.
