A corporate couple is gaining widespread attention online after revealing that their decision to relocate to Manali for remote work has helped them reduce their monthly expenses by around ₹30,000.

Anjali and Naman shared their journey on Instagram, documenting how a slower lifestyle in the hills unexpectedly improved both their quality of life and their savings.

In the video, Anjali explained: “We accidentally started saving over ₹30,000 every month without even trying. Hi, we are Anjali and Naman, a remote corporate couple living in Manali. We didn’t move here to save money—we moved here to experience slow travel while continuing our corporate jobs.”

She detailed how the shift led to significant cost reductions, including a drop in rent from ₹45,000 in the city to ₹28,000, saving them around ₹17,000 per month.

Additional savings came from eliminating daily office commutes and reducing lifestyle expenses such as office dinners, coffee runs, and frequent snack breaks, which together accounted for another ₹7,500 monthly.

The couple also shared that they used to spend ₹5,000–₹6,000 every month on weekend getaways to escape the fast-paced urban routine. After moving to Manali, the need for such frequent short trips naturally diminished.

“We didn’t choose remote work to spend less; we chose it to live differently. The savings were just a bonus,” Anjali said.

Their video sparked a lively discussion online, with netizens sharing mixed reactions. One user asked about their income, writing: “Hey, can you guys please share your salaries too? How much do you both earn in remote jobs?”

Another commented on lifestyle differences: “Doesn’t it get too quiet in the evenings? I’ve lived in a metro city all my life, so I’m used to the noise.”

Others expressed scepticism about the feasibility of such a move, with one user saying that while they appreciated the idea of peace and remote work, relocating entirely to a remote town like Manali felt unrealistic for many, adding that it might be more of an “Instagram dream” than a practical lifestyle for most people.
