Rotary Club of Sonarpur, together with South Kolkata Vision (a Past Presidents’ Forum), celebrated Children’s Day by gifting a newly developed Children’s Park to the community at Sonarpur, located clsoe to Kolkata.

Dedicated in the loving memory of Late Seema Ghosh, the park has been established under the banner of Rotary International District 3291, with the support of Ashram Anandam.

The playground was formally unveiled in the presence of District Public Image Chair Rtn. Subhojit Roy, Club President Rtn. Samir Das, Club Service Project Chair Rtn. Sanjib Roy, along with several distinguished Rotarians.

In his address, President Rtn. Samir Das said: “Every child has the right to grow up with love, safety, education, and dignity. It is our collective social responsibility to create a healthy, secure, and opportunity-filled world for them. Play is not merely a form of entertainment—it is a vital catalyst for a child’s physical, mental, and social development. A safe and well-designed playground builds confidence, nurtures creativity, and instils leadership, empathy, and essential social values in children.”

This initiative by the Rotary Club of Sonarpur is far more than the creation of a playground—it is an effort to enrich society and a thoughtful step toward nurturing a responsible, compassionate future generation.
