Peducha/Nagaland: Salhoutuonuo Kruse, the Minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture, emphasized the importance of revitalizing traditional weaving for large-scale production through the adoption of modern machinery, at a thanksgiving program held on May 6 at the Peducha village council hall.

Kruse highlighted the potential for floriculture in the state and informed the audience of several plans in the pipeline to construct marketing sheds along the Zubza highway, reported Nagaland Post.

These efforts aim to enable women farmers and flower growers in the Western Angami areas to conduct business. Kruse also informed attendees that flower seeds and vegetables were available for those interested.

The primary goal of the Women Resource Development and Horticulture department is to assist women in achieving self-sustainability by improving their livelihoods.

Kruse expressed her gratitude towards the people of Kiruphema for their support in her victory, during the event.

She mentioned that her victory was just the first step in the journey ahead and assured the audience that she would do everything in her power to uplift the people, which can only be achieved through unity.

Chairperson of the Kiruphema Women Organisation, Pfülhouzhüno Visienyü, congratulated Kruse on becoming the first female cabinet minister in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

The chairman of the Kiruphema Bawe Council, Kiruphema Basa Council, and Peducha Village Council also congratulated Kruse and expressed confidence that she would bring much-needed change not only to Western Angami but to Nagas as a whole.

Furthermore, they highlighted some pressing needs in the area, such as good roads, health centers, and farmers' educational tours. They hoped that these requirements would be fulfilled in due course.
