Kolkata to host literature festival

Kolkata, Feb 2 (IBNS): Publishers and Book Sellers Guild on Monday announced the second edition of Kolkata Literature Festival (KLF) through a press conference here at the Milan Mela ground in Kolkata.

President of Publishers and Book Sellers Guild Tridib Chatterjee, historian and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sugata Basu and dancer Alokananda Roy were present at press meet.

The KLF will begin on Feb 6 and will end on Feb 8 at the KLF Auditorium (SBI Auditorium) inside the Milan Mela premises.

Tridib Chatterjee said that renowned actor Soumitra Chatterjee, CEO of Prasar Bharti Jawhar Sircar, author Shobha De will join the inaugural ceremony.

"Nobel laureate economist Amartya Sen will be present on the closing day of the KLF," he added.

Dancer Alokananda Roy will showcase a dance performance on Tegore's songs and on the life of Jesus Christ.

She said that the prisoners from Dumdum correctional home, Presidency jail, Alipore women's correctional home and Medinipore jail would perform in her dance programme.

Tridib Chatterjee said that the limited number of entry passes would be available in the guild's office at Milan Mela ground from Tuesday.

Sugata Basu has requested the students to join KLF.
