iPhone 18 goes on sale: Buyers queue for hours, first customers share excitement
New Delhi/IBNS: Long queues were seen outside Apple stores across India as the tech giant’s latest iPhone 18 series went on sale in the country on Friday.
Customers can purchase the new models through Apple’s online store, retail outlets and authorised sellers.

Buyers queue up for new iPhone
The first customer to purchase the iPhone 18 in Maharashtra said he had been waiting outside the Apple store for nearly 10-12 hours.
“I am very excited. I was trying to buy the phone first,” he said.

Similar scenes were witnessed in other major cities, with buyers turning up early to get their hands on the latest iPhones.
A buyer from Noida claimed he had been waiting outside the store since 6 am and managed to purchase an iPhone 18 Pro Max.
iPhone 18 series goes on sale
The iPhone 18 lineup features upgrades in performance, camera capabilities and design as Apple continues its annual smartphone refresh.
Pre-orders for the new models began earlier this month, while deliveries and retail availability started on September 18.
Customers can purchase the latest iPhones through Apple stores and authorised retail partners across India, subject to availability.

Apple unveils new iPhone lineup
Earlier this month, Apple unveiled its latest iPhone lineup, headlined by the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, alongside its first-ever foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo at a grand event at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.
The launch marks Apple's entry into the foldable smartphone segment and brings a series of hardware upgrades.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are powered by the new A20 Pro chip and feature a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. The devices also come with a next-generation vapour chamber, improved battery life, a smaller Dynamic Island and new AI-powered Siri features.
Apple's first foldable iPhone
The iPhone Duo marks Apple's first entry into the foldable smartphone market.
The device features a 7.6-inch inner display when unfolded and a 5.4-inch outer display when folded. It also features a precision hinge and is designed to support multitasking, gaming and content consumption.
iPhone 18 Pro price in India
In India, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900, while the iPhone Duo starts at ₹2,99,900.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max begin on September 12, with the devices set to become available from September 18.
The iPhone Duo is scheduled to open for pre-orders from October 16.
