India celebrates the bond of friendship today

In this age of technology, celebrating the occasion has gained more momentum as it has become easier with friends wishing each other either through Short Message Service (SMS) or on social networking sites.

Netizens could see social networking sites flooding with 'Friendship Day' wishes and greetings on Sunday.

The day is celebrated to cherish the eternal bonds of friendship and people indulge in several merry making activities to make the most of it.

As consumerism has paved its way tremendously, cards, gifts and most importantly friendship bands are the most spotted items on this day.

In India, the day is celebrated in high spirits by friends. Friends make it a point to meet on this day and celebrate the day by watching films, partying or crowding the food joints.

English channel Vh1 will celebrate Friendship Day with with ‘Vh1 Friendstagram’, a 4-hour special show dedicated to friendship, love and a lot of selfies.

Vh1 Friendstagram will be telecast on Aug 3 at 12pm. only on Vh1.
