Kolkata, Apr 10 (IBNS): Expert in vegetarian cuisine, Kolkata-based Casa Kitchen is ready to add a pan-India flavour to the locally celebrated ‘Naba Barsha’ or Bengali New Year.

Like every year, this year too, Casa Kitchen, the in-house restaurant of Casa Fortuna Hotel, is laying out a special spread from the land of the five rivers, the Punjab, for the upcoming Baisakhi festival.

In Punjab, the Baisakhi celebration is marked by new crop harvest and is seen as a harbinger of prosperity and happiness.

To start with, you may choose the Dhania Pudina Ki Chaas (summer drink flavoured with coriander and mint) or a Badam Lassi (a yoghurt-based drink flavoured with almond) to start on a cool note.

This may be followed by dishes such as Aloo Dum Punjabi, Aloo Matar Ki Tehri, and Paneer Malai Tikka, Sarson Da Saag and many more.

Punjab’s all-time favourites, Makke Di Roti, Missi Roti, Amritsari Kulche will recharge your taste buds.

Last but not the least, you have to try the Gajar Ka Halwa or Kesaria Firni to round off the meal.

Sanjib Banerjee, F&B manager, while speaking to IBNS said, "Our Baisakhi menu also focuses on North Indian delicacies."

Talking about the Bengali affinity for non-vegetarian dishes, he said, "Yes, I know Bengalis are attracted towards non-vegetarian food but I would like to ask all Bengali food lovers to come and taste this menu and I can promise them that they will go back happy.”

The Baisakhi Food Festival at Casa Kitchen will be on from April 12 to 22, and the special menu will be available for both Lunch (12.30PM-3.30PM) and dinner (7.30PM-11PM).
