Eighth edition of 'The Park's New Festival 2014' starts from Kolkata

Kolkata, Oct 15 (IBNS): Continuing its legacy of promoting art and culture, The Park Hotels is back with its much awaited contemporary performance arts festival of India- 'The Park's New Festival 2014'.

Curated by Prakriti Foundation, the festival aims to bring together international and local artists at a world class forum to celebrate art and culture. The eighth edition of the festival has on offer compelling performances in the genre of music, dance, art and theatre.

Kick staring from Kolkata on Oct 31, the festival will travel to six cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore before concluding in Chennai on Nov 23.

With striking contemporary dance performance by UK based hip-hop/contemporary dance company Avant Garde, observational humour of Azeem Banatwalla, a devised performance piece by actress cum performing artist Jyoti Dogra, a unique brew of music by Filter Coffee, an improvised performance based on the character of Madame K by K TWO dance group and an exhibition of moving image works by Claire Pencak,

The Park’s New Festival will witness all this and much more. In addition to the performances scheduled, the Avant Garde Dance Company will conduct contemporary dance workshops across six cities.
