Founded by Chandan Borthakur, Rishav Barman, Manab Duarah, and Akash, HouseArrest aims to connect like-minded individuals through the universal language of music.

The community showcases the works of Northeast Indian artists under their label, Art Alaap Sounds, with songs available on Spotify and YouTube. Emphasizing community-based musicians and their stories, HouseArrest strives to unite people and push the music scene forward, reported EastMojo.

Genres like indie, experimental, psy, and techno are gaining popularity in Guwahati. Through their gigs or episodes, HouseArrest features underground singers and musicians, providing a holistic platform to celebrate Northeast India's musical heritage.

The success of Assam's music scene can be attributed to joint efforts by musicians and industry professionals, aligning with commercial aspects while preserving artistic integrity.
