Kolkata/IBNS: Amway India, the country’s FMCG direct selling company, celebrated Children’s Day for the 11th consecutive year on Thursday.

The annual celebrations were hosted across India with 12 NGO partners as part of Amway India’s CSR program- Project Sunrise, through which Amway aims to promote the overall well-being of underprivileged children in India by providing them access to education, health and hygiene.

The celebrations were geared towards empowering and encouraging the young ones through several interactive activities. These included painting competitions, musical performances, short skits sensitizing people on eliminating single-use plastic, interactive workshops, puppet shows, dance performances among others.

In Kolkata, Amway celebrated Children’s Day in association with Mukti Rehabilitation Centre by organizing a play on Child Rights and a drawing competition on ‘Paint your imagination’.

The children of Mukti Rehabilitation Centre actively participated in the competition to creatively advocate their imagination. Post the competition, prizes were presented to the participants.

Chandra Chakraborty, Vice President-East, Amway India, representatives of Mukti Rehabilitation Centre, and Amway Direct Sellers were present at the event.

Chandra Chakraborty, Vice President-East, Amway India, said, “Children of today are the leaders of tomorrow and Amway India celebrates Children’s Day each year along with our NGO partners. It was a delight to witness the passion and enthusiasm among the children and the creativity they deployed in bringing their imagination to life.

We are proud to collaborate with Mukti Rehabilitation Centre and will continue to extend our support for the welfare of the children.”

Commenting on the occasion, K. Viswanath, Secretary and one of the founder members of Mukti Rehabilitation Centre said, “Our aim is to give the children time-off from the regular routine and engage them in fun activities which ultimately builds their self-confidence and increases their exposure.

Over the years, Children’s Day has become a special occasion for our kids and they enthusiastically look forward to celebrating it with Amway. We wholeheartedly thank Amway for organizing a fun-filled day for the children.”
