Amazon brings game-changing Claude Fable 5 to AWS—And it’s unlike any AI before
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the general availability of Anthropic’s latest frontier AI model, Claude Fable 5, on Amazon Bedrock and the Claude Platform on AWS.
Designed for ambitious, long-duration, and highly complex tasks, Claude Fable 5 introduces what Anthropic describes as Mythos-level capabilities while incorporating robust safety measures to support broader enterprise adoption.
Anthropic Unveils Next Generation of AI Models
Alongside the launch, Anthropic revealed that Claude Mythos 5, the successor to the Claude Mythos Preview model, is now available to a limited group of participants, including approved users in Project Glasswing.
With this release, Anthropic’s model lineup now spans four tiers:
Haiku – Fast, lightweight tasks
Sonnet – Balanced performance and efficiency
Opus – Advanced, real-time collaboration on complex work
Mythos – Highest-end capabilities for frontier AI applications
According to Anthropic, Claude Fable 5 is intended for large-scale, asynchronous projects that require a model to independently plan, research, create, validate, and refine work over extended periods. For faster, interactive collaboration, the company recommends Claude Opus.
What Makes Claude Fable 5 Different?
Anthropic says Claude Fable 5 represents a significant leap forward in AI capabilities, enabling workflows that previous Claude models could not reliably sustain.
Long-Running Autonomous Execution
Claude Fable 5 can work on complex coding and knowledge-based tasks for days at a time with minimal or no human intervention, making it suitable for large-scale research, software development, and enterprise automation projects.
Advanced Vision Understanding
The model can interpret diagrams, charts, tables, and visual information embedded within documents, PDFs, and files. This capability expands its usefulness across industries such as finance, legal services, analytics, architecture, engineering, and gaming.
For developers, Claude Fable 5 can also analyze design references, implement them with greater fidelity, and visually evaluate whether generated outputs meet specified goals.
Proactive Self-Verification
A key enhancement is the model’s ability to evaluate and improve its own performance. Claude Fable 5 can update its workflows based on new learnings, create custom testing frameworks and evaluation harnesses, and verify the accuracy of its outputs before completion.
How to Access Claude Fable 5 on AWS
Customers can access Claude Fable 5 through the following AWS services:
Amazon Bedrock
Organizations can deploy Claude Fable 5 within their existing AWS environments while maintaining enterprise-grade security, compliance controls, and regional data residency requirements.
The model is available through:
Bedrock Runtime Console
The new Bedrock Mantle Console, which provides project-aware live documentation and automatically generated code snippets
Claude Platform on AWS
Customers who do not require regional data residency can access Claude Fable 5 through Anthropic’s native platform experience hosted on AWS infrastructure.
Additionally, Claude Fable 5 supports Advanced Prompt Optimization on Amazon Bedrock. The feature benchmarks prompts against defined evaluation criteria and automatically generates production-ready prompt improvements to enhance model performance and consistency.
