Kolkata, Sep 26 (IBNS): Kolkata-based Acropolis Mall recently celebrated its fourth birthday with fun, film and social welfare.

One of the highlights of the birthday bash was the presence of the entire cast of the Bengal movie Mitin Mashi along with director Arindam Sil.

Mitin Mashi, after whom the film is named, is a fictional detective created by the noted Bengali author late Suchitra Bhattacharya.

Sil, along with Sushil Mohta, Chairman, Merlin Group (the developer of Acropolis Mall) cut the birthday cake.

There was a painting competition for children where under privileged kids from from Pathchala, an organisation working for the welfare of daily wage earners’ children in and around Kalighat, joined students from several schools to express themselves.

The competition was judged by noted artist Wasim Kapoor who not only judged the painting competition but also appreciated the efforts of the children from Pathchala, who were also awarded special prizes to boost their morale.

Sushil Mohta later presented new clothes to the underprivileged children.

Said Mohta, “Today we have completed four years at Acropolis Mall and it is a special moment for us to enjoy this day with everyone, including the entire cast of Mitin Mashi and the children of Pathchala. We will be very happy if our humble initiative has brought cheer to those little faces of Pathchala before Durga Puja. I wish Shri Arindam Sil a grand success of his upcoming movie Mitin Mashi. We wish all a very happy Durga Puja on behalf of Acropolis."

There was a dance recital based on Agomoni songs and a conch blowing competition keeping in mind the upcoming Durga Puja.

The Puja Shopping Bonanza at the Mall concludes on September 30.

Acropolis Mall won the CNBC Real Estate Award in Eastern Region, 2019
