Rockstand expands footprints in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Aug 19 (IBNS): In an effort to expand the academic and trade titles portfolio, Rockstand, one of the leading e-books and e-magazines mobile application, on Tuesday announced its tie up with 3 leading publications of Maharashtra.

Through this alliance Rockstand will now have access to 52 titles of Nirali Prakashan, 27 titles of Nachiket Prakashan and 8 titles by Diamond Publication, some of which are best-sellers.

These titles are now live on Rockstand which is available across Android, IOS & Windows platforms. It can be accessed by downloading the app for free.

Commenting on the tie ups Praveen Rajpal, CEO, Rockstand said, “We always thrive to provide best academic e-books and e-magazine to our avid readers. This is another big achievement for us." He added, Students can now have their own e-library from where they can read the subject they want anytime and anywhere.

Speaking about Nirali Prakashan, he said, "Nirali is one of the oldest publications of the country and has a huge collection of popular academic books. Availability of these books on mobile will help the students to read their course material on the go without waiting for the library to open."

Speaking on the alliance with publishers, Rishi Mohan Jha, Head, Rockstand said, “We are delighted to be associated with these publishers of high repute. Gone are the days when the readers had to wait for fresh stock of books to arrive, generally turning short, especially in case of academic books”.

He went on further to say, “Accessing one’s favourite book has become as simple as pushing a button literally, our reach has further expanded and all the students will now be able to access the course material and books of their favourite publisher on Rockstand without any hassle.”

It is learnt that Rockstand chose Maharashtra-based publications, since it feels that Maharashtra is undoubtedly the hub of higher education especially in cities like Pune and Mumbai where premier institutes are concentrated. Students scouting for preparatory and infotainment content can now easily access e-books and e-magazines of their choice on Rockstand.

According to statistics released by Rockstand, e-book market is expected to grow by 10% this year and is further expected to grow by 25-30% in next 3 years. Presently, e-book market is valued at about 110 crore.

On the other hand, speaking about the tie up, Jignesh Furia, Executive Director, Nirali Prakashan said, “partnering with Rockstand will not only empower students to access content on the go but also help reach out to students across the country.”
