Audis to buy - We highlight some of the new models

Audi had been out of action in our market for quite some time, but that was until a year-and-a-half ago. New models have been popping up since, like Audi's entry-level model – the Q2 crossover, the stunning-looking and feature-packed A6 and the most hardcore and sportiest of them all, the S5 Sportback. Audi's cars have always offered great luxury and the new styling seems to be gripping the market well. We pick out a few models you might like to consider buying.

Audi Q2

The Audi Q2 is certainly an SUV, albeit a very small one. Audi Cars have designed the Q2 for a young kid of customer, and that's why you see edgy design cues and its compact proportions give it a chic appeal. It still looks like an Audi and you'll have to have a keen eye to appreciate the crisp details. It has a prominent character line, mild protruding wheel arches and a sloping roofline. The signature Audi Cars grille is perhaps the smallest you'll see in their range but we like how it gives the front-end a rectangular look along with trapezoidal details. There are lots of sharp cuts that give the Q2 a distinct identity. We like the compact headlamps, featuring T-shaped patterns and the tail lights look cute too.

On the inside, Audi Cars have scooped out as much space possible to ensure four are seated in comfort, while the fifth passenger will find it a squeeze. The seats at the front and rear provide ample support and the driver gets comfortably easily. Surprisingly, the Indian-spec car does not feature powered seats and a touchscreen too. Powering the Q2 is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine making 187bhp and 320Nm of torque, and this is easily one of the nicest four-cylinder petrol engines on the market. There is no vibration at idle with barely any turbo lag. Once the boost kicks in, there's ample performance on offer till the 6200rpm redline. The Q2 is the smallest luxury SUV you can buy if you're looking at Automatic Cars in India .

Audi A6

Audis are no longer boring looking cars; their designs have evolved, and how. The overall shape of the A6 has been retained, but it looks sharper with a long bonnet and a curvaceous rear glass house. Gone are the soft body panels and in come edgier shapes. Then there's Audi newest version of the single-frame Bulgarian Beard grille. It has lots of chrome on it and sleek LED headlights feature a new DRL signature. Even the rear looks the part with LED tail lights connecting each other with a chrome strip running the width of the boot. The dual exhaust tips are fake but give it a classy look and the bonnet gets some nice, sharp lines on it.

The new interior is unlike Audis of old; the dashboard comes with layers and slabs with a brushed aluminium finish, piano black interiors and open-pore wood veneer. The A6 is never short on luxury and there's plenty of space. The steering wheel is new; so is the Virtual Cockpit: our favourite bit about Audi's cabins. Features include a Bang & Olufsen hi-fi audio system and a wireless phone charger beneath the central armrest. The new A6 is powered by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 241bhp and 370Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The engine is impressively refined and it idles silently; you'll only hear the engine buzz after 4000rpm. Paired to the engine is a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox that works smoothly.

Audi S5 Sportback

The Audi S5 Sportback is perhaps the hottest looking family-cum-performance car you can buy. The S5 was once an elegant looking car, but it now looks angry and ready to bite you with all those sharp creases. In Turbo Blue, it looks fantastic and the headlights and tail lights get new LED signatures integrated. The bumpers look sharper with silver elements and the Audi grille gets silver studs instead of horizontal slats. The S5 Sportback also gets 19-inch alloy wheels. We love the sheer width of the low-slung car.

Inside, the S5 Sportback features a free-standing 10.1-inch infotainment screen plus normal knobs and buttons and there's no click-wheel controller anymore. The S5 Sportback continues to be powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-scroll-turbocharged V6 producing 349bhp and 500Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. Performance is enough to boggle the mind as it accelerates from 0-100 in under 5 seconds. This is one among the many high-performance Automatic Cars in India you can buy.
