Kolkata/IBNS: Chowman, a popular Chinese restaurant chain in Kolkata, has announced that to enhance the health and safety precautions necessary to contain the pandemic crisis, they will provide a free a sachet of  alcohol-based hand sanitiser with every order.

The restaurant said that right from the onset of the lockdown, it has taken necessary precautions to make all orders completely safe and hygienic - all kitchen equipment, utensils, kitchen floor, wall and even vegetables and raw material are properly sanitised before they are brought inside the kitchen; and all kitchen staff follow proper hand washing protocol with soap and alcohol based sanitizer.

The restaurant has made use of mask, scalp cap, apron and gloves mandatory for entire kitchen team; use of masks and disposable gloves have been made compulsory for all delivery staffs as well.

The restaurant said that its own delivery team goes through proper sanitisation process before and after delivering any order; the order despatch team of Chowman also ensures the same protocol is followed while they despatch orders from the kitchen to other app-based delivery aggregators.

Debaditya Chaudhury - Managing Director, (Chowman, Oudh 1590 & Chapter 2) said, "Fear is the most contagious disease of all. I'm not a doctor, or a scientist, or a fortune-teller. I'm just a common man with hope who strongly believes this is a temporary phase in our lives that we have to overcome with courage, determination and taking proper precautions. We cannot let fear cripple us more than the virus has. Although the hospitality industry has taken a major hit due to the current scenario, it is only a matter of time before we are back on track."
