FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week goes phygital this season, Anamika Khanna to open show
Kolkata/IBNS: The popular Indian fashion and beauty show, Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) is being jointly organised by Lakmé & RISE Worldwide (formerly IMG Reliance), and Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) this season as FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week.
The five-day fashion event will be a combination of virtual and physical fashion showcases scheduled to take place from March 16 to 21, 2021.
Anamika Khanna will open the fashion week with a virtual showcase
FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week will feature the prestigious designer talent discovery programme GenNext as well as promote modelling talent through FDCI’s #GetNoticed Model Hunt besides other innovations, the organisers said in a release.
Ace designers Suneet Varma, S&N by Shantanu and Nikhil, Payal Pratap, Samant Chauhan, Geisha Designs by Paras & Shalini, Nitin Bal Chauhan, Siddartha Tytler, Pawan Sachdeva, Nidhi Yasha, Limerick by Abirr n’ Nanki, Nirmooha will be on the platform along with a ‘fusion edit’ by Taniera from the House of Tata.
Both FDCI and LFW will continue their buyer programmes launched last season as well.
Each of the virtual showcases have been created using state of the art technology during an extensively designed and carefully planned on-ground shoot in Delhi led by FDCI and in Mumbai led by RISE Worldwide.
TRESemmé presents a sustainable collection by Ritu Kumar.
Sustainable Fashion Day will feature ‘All About India’ presented by RISE Worldwide – a tribute to artisans- their techniques and craft by Chola, Huemn and Khanijo.
Other showcases include a special collaboration with PETA and a showcase of Peace Silk by Cocccon.
Masaba will be seen showcasing her latest collection inspired by BoAt, one of the world’s leading audio brands.
