ONGC Recruitment-Apply for Post of Assistant Legal Adviser through CLAT-2018

ONGC has invited applications for the post of Assistant Legal Adviser through CLAT 2018. Common Law Admission Test is a centralized exam conducted for students who wish to gain admission in National Law Universities in India. But, in a very welcome move, ONGC has announced that they would accept CLAT scores for recruitment.

While this move is quite refreshing, it also allows the aspirants of CLAT 2018 with a wider scope of opportunities to apply for various positions and colleges as well.

ONGC is one of the ‘Maharatna’ companies under the Government of India. It is a public sector enterprise. ONGC stands for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited and is a multinational oil and gas firm which is headquartered in Dehradun, Uttrakhand. It is engaged in exploration and production of oil and gas in India and abroad. While it is a government enterprise, recruitments are very difficult to come by. But, at the moment ONGC is looking for young and fresh talent to fill their posts of Assistant Legal Adviser at E1 level. The company wants the candidates with a bright academic record all through.

Here are the details in a comprehensive manner:

Selection Procedure:

1. Eligible candidates must meet the age and minimum eligibility criteria of ONGC will need to appear for the CLAT 2018 conducted by the NUALS, Kochi for the purpose of gaining admission into the postgraduate programme (LLM) in the National Law Universities.  Based on the scores of the CLAT 2018, candidates will be shortlisted.

2. Only CLAT 2018 scores will be valid, so the candidates need to appear for CLAT 2018 examinations. As the recruitment will be based on the current scores and previous CLAT scores will not be valid.

Application process:

The application process entails a two-factor process:

• The online registration for CLAT 2018 examination to be held for LLM which will be held on 13th May 2018.

• The online registration with ONGC with a relevant link available at their website www.ongc.com after paying the registration fee and entering the details such as CLAT2018 registration details such as roll number, registration number.

Selection Process:

1. The candidates shortlisted on the basis of their CLAT 2018 score for LLM will move forward and will have to qualify the eligibility criteria set by ONGC. The further selection process will be based on regard to age, qualification etc.

2. Final selection will be on the basis of the CLAT 2018 scores for the examination conducted for LLM, educational qualification and performance in the personal interview. Higher qualification can include a Ph.D. only.

Important Dates:

Starting of ONGC online applications: 23rd May 2018 (Tentative)

They will accept registration fees.

1. Last date for payment of registration fees with ONGC for the post of Assistant Legal Adviser: 21st June 2018 (Tentative)

2. Scheduled Interviews: 1st week of August 2018 (Tentative)
