Intel Education 2 in 1 unveiled in India

New Delhi, June 26 (IBNS): Intel India on Wednesday unveiled the Intel Education 2 in 1, its first-ever 2 in 1 design for students at an event in New Delhi.
At the event Ashutosh Chadha, Director, Corporate Affairs Group - Intel South Asia and Rajiv Bhalla Director, Market Development – Intel South Asia showcased the full range of Intel Education Solutions. Intel India, together with Center for Assessment, Evaluation and Research (CAER), also launched a white paper, ‘Creating a transformed learning environment’ highlighting the need & importance for integrating technology in school based assessments.

Developed through extensive work with teachers and students around the globe, Intel’s comprehensive approach includes software, devices, educational accessories, professional development and program expertise, helping more than 10 million teachers in 100 countries better integrate technology into their teaching so far.  
 
While discussing Intel’s Education initiatives in India, Ashutosh Chadha, Director, Corporate Affairs Group, Intel South Asia said, “In a global economy, creating 21st century success for individual students, communities and nations means giving every student the skills and opportunities to excel. At the event, Intel unveiled its first-ever 2 in 1 education reference design. The Intel Education 2 in 1 has the flexibility and mobility of a tablet plus the performance and productivity of a laptop, giving students the best of both worlds in one device. The Intel® Education 2 in 1 has front-facing and rear-facing cameras to promote content creation and scientific exploration. 
 
The dual-docking mode allows students the option of having the tablet screen face them when using the keyboard or having the tablet screen face their peers to facilitate collaboration.
 
 “As a result of our work with educators around the world, Intel understands the need for engaging, student-centered learning in order to drive student success in school and beyond,” said Rajiv Bhalla, Director Market Development, Intel South Asia.
 
 “With our new Intel Education 2 in 1, students have a tablet when they want it and a laptop when they need it. This gives educators the flexibility to create a more interactive, collaborative learning experience for their students.”

The Intel Education 2 in 1 is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor Z3740D, runs Windows 8.1, and provides up to 7.8 hours of battery life as a tablet and an optional 3+ hours of additional battery life when docked1 to keep up with student learning all through the day.
 
 It is designed for education and ruggedized so that it can withstand drops from 70cms2 and offers IP 51 water and dust resistance to promote anytime, anywhere learning. There are kid friendly features such as a handle that makes it easier for small hands to hold and a stylus with a realistic pen-like grip.

Intel India and the Center for Assessment Evaluation and Research collaborated on a whitepaper that outlines the challenges in integrating technology in school based assessment and what it takes to transform the learning environment.
 
 Discussing the whitepaper, Sarita Manuja, Director, Center for Assessment Evaluation and Research said, “Our schools can be turned into centers of quality learning and teaching for the 21st century by effectively integrating technology into our classrooms. Technology can provide learning tools and assessment tools as well as provide real time analytics in a scalable manner that helps in creating a transformed learning experience."
