Bangladesh: Rohingya boat capsizes, 6 bodies recovered
They were reportedly escaping Myanmar’s Rakhine state.
The identities of the deceased people is not known so far.
The boat capsized in the river at Shah Pori Dwip in the upazila around 3:00am, The Daily Star reports quoting Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Police Station Md Mainuddin Khan.
Since violence hit Myanmar’s Rakhine state last month, Bangladesh has been witnessing fresh influx of Rohingya refugees who are fleeing from the area.
