London, Sept 25 (IBNS): Former Australian spinner Shane Warne on Sunday said he has been cleared of all allegations by the police in the case related to assaulting an adult entertainment actress in a London nightclub.

Warne said he was 'shocked' that he was accused in the case.

In a statement, Warne said:"I was shocked to read the media stories circulating earlier today concerning a false allegation of assault."

"I have fully co-operated with the police, and they have now had the opportunity of seeing CCTV and speaking to witnesses," he said.

Shane Warne further said in the statement: "The police have confirmed to me that I have been cleared of the allegation and that no further action will be taken. This is now the end of the matter."

London-based adult film actress Valerie Foxx  had accused that former Australian spinner Shane Warne had hit her on the face recently.

She also shared image of bruises she suffered on social media.

According to reports, the actress has registered an official complaint with the police over the incident.

The incident occurred at a club on Friday.

The actress tweeted: "Absolutely traumatised by tonight's events, being a victim of assault is horrible and I thank the @metpoliceuk for their help & support."

"And no, I'm not lying. Just because you're famous doesn't mean you can hit women and get away with it," she said.

Sharing the image of the bruises she suffered, the actress tweeted :"Proud of yourself? Hitting a woman? Vile creature."

Meanwhile, The Sun tabloid reported :"Witnesses looked on as glamour model Valerie and Warne, 48, rowed in a club on Friday night. She is said to have fallen to the floor clutching her face."

Police have started investigating into the incident.

Warne is considered as one of the best leg spinner to play for Australia.

He has played for Australia for 15 years.
