Shoaib Akhtar turns 42, cricket world wishes him
Cricketers turned to social media to wish the former speedstar.
Former Pakistani captain Wasim Akram tweeted: "Happy Birthday to "da" one and only Shaibi. Not only a phenomenal cricketer but one of the funniest people I know @shoaib100mph."
PCB Offical wished him by saying: "He delivered the fastest ball officially recorded at a speed of 161.3 km/h. Happy Birthday to the #RawalpindiExpress, @shoaib100mph ."
Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag said: "Wish you a very happy birthday and a healthy year ahead @shoaib100mph ."
Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal tweeted: "It was great time, when i shared the dressing room with you Shoaib bhai. Happy birthday "fastest bowler" @shoaib100mph ."
Regarded as one of the best fast bowlers to ever played the game, Akhtar is the fastest bowler ever in the history of cricket, who delivered the fastest delivery officially recorded at a top speed of 161.3km/h in a pool match against England in the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Akhtar was nicknamed as "Rawalpindi Express", as a tribute to his hometown and fast bowling.
He is the first bowler to break the 100mph barrier as well, which he did twice in his career.
