Mumbai/New Delhi, Sep 28 (IBNS): India's much acclaimed playback singer, Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, turned 88 on Thursday, with good wishes pouring in from all corners of the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Birthday wishes to respected @mangeshkarlata Didi. Her melodious voice is admired by crores of Indians. I pray for her long & healthy life."

Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra tweeted, Heartiest birthday greetings @mangeshkarlata Didi !
Wishing you long & healthy life!
You are an inspiration and pride of Maharashtra !"

India's ace cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, also a Bharat Ratna, tweeted, "Happy birthday, @mangeshkarlata Didi. We are fortunate to be blessed by your voice in this world. Wishing you good health!" and posted a picture of them together.

Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister tweeted, "Wishing @mangeshkarlata ji a very Happy Birthday. To many more years of happiness, health and music."

Shankar Mahadevan, singer and music composer, tweeteed, "She was the greatest , is the greatest and will be the greatest ! Happiest birthday to maa Saraswati @mangeshkarlata bless us."
