New Delhi, Jun 21 (IBNS): June 21, the longest day of the year, or the beginning of the summer solstice, is celebrated by World Music Day all over the world, especially in France, according to media reports.

It is the day when musicians of all ages and experience levels perform free for listeners at large in open areas and public spaces, such as gardens, parks, etc.

The French celebrations became so popular that, according to media reports, the day is observed in nearly 120 countries and 700 cities,

Tweeted renowned Sitar maestro, Amjad Ali Khan, "Music is the greatest wealth that I inherited from my forefathers. Music is a precious gift of God. We must value it! #WorldMusicDay. "

"Music = Magic. It makes you cry, smile, dance, fall in ❤️ & more. It makes you feel all the emotions. Happy #WorldMusicDay, "tweeted Yash Raj Films, the movie and media conglomerate that is known for some hugely popular chart buster numbers.
