Tata Steel's distributors contribute Rs 1.1 cr to Tata Medical Centre

Kolkata, June 14 (IBNS) In an innovative fund raising initiative, Tata Steel auctioned the first set of four CR coils produced at the Jamshedpur Continuous Annealing and Processing Company Pvt Ltd (JCAPCPL), Jamshedpur, a joint venture of Tata Steel and Nippon Steel Sumitomo Metal Corporation, among its Steelium distributors and raised Rs 1.1 crore which was contributed to the corpus of Tata Medical Centre in Kolkata recently.

With this tranche, distributors of Tata Steel have contributed a total Rs 4.2 crore towards patient care at Tata Medical Centre.

Speaking at a ceremony held at Tata Medical Centre where the cheque for the amount was handed over, Anand Sen, President, TQM & Steel Business, Tata Steel, said distributors of Tata Steel have come forward to support a good cause.

“In our endeavour to serve society, we believe in sponsorship with a soul”, he said. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mammen Chandy, Director of Tata Medical Centre said: “We need resources to achieve what we want to for our patients. We seek help to carry forward our dream to help patients who do not have the means to fund their treatment”.
