Rajasthan registers 140 new cases, tally reaches 5,342

Jaipur/UNI: Rajasthan on Monday added 140 fresh cases to its novel coronavirus tally, pushing the total number of infections to 5,342, while the death toll stood at 133.

As per the Health department, the latest fatalities are of a 66-year-old person from industrial area of Kota district and 20-year-old woman from Didwana town of Nagaur. Both were undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital in Jaipur.

The active cases in the state are 1,890 while 2,944 patients have recovered, of which 2,572 have been discharged.

Among the fresh cases, maximum 64 surfaced in Dungarpur, followed by 43 in Jodhpur, 22 in Bhilwara, 21 in Jaipur, 15 in Udaipur, four each in Banswara and Bikaner, three in Dausa while one in Sikar.

Expanding the state tally, 255 cases were recorded in Ajmer, 35 in Alwar, 72 in Banswara, four in Baran, 22 in Barmer, 123 in Bharatpur, 77 in Bhilwara, 51 in Bikaner, 154 in Chittorgarh, 46 in Churu, 36 in Dausa, 24 in Dholpur, 124 in Dungarpur, 14 in Hanumangarh, 1,597 in Jaipur, 47 in Jaisalmer, 72 in Jhalore, 49 in Jhalawar, 56 in Jhunjhunu, 1,036 in Jodhpur, 48 in BSF, 10 in Karauli, 326 in Kota, 174 in Nagaur, 128 in Pali, five in Pratapgarh, 45 in Rajsamand, 17 in Sawai Madhopur, 42 in Sirohi, 20 in Sikar, 147 in Tonk while 395 in Udaipur.

So far, 2,31,946 samples have been tested, out of which 5,342 tested positive, 2,21,764 negative while result of 4,840 awaited, the Health department informed.
