At least 95 people died and 130 others were injured after multiple earthquakes, with the strongest measuring 7.1 on the Richter Scale, hit Tibet's Xizang region, close to the Nepal border on Tuesday, Chinese media reports said.

Strong tremors were also felt in several Indian cities including Kolkata and Patna.

There are 27 villages and approximately 6,900 people within a 20-km radius of the epicenter, reported Xinhua news agency of China.

More than 3,400 rescuers and over 340 medical workers rushed to the quake-hit area.

As per National Centre for Seismology (NCS) data released on X, the earthquake hit Tibet around 6.35 am.
