Indonesia: Floods, landslides kill 24

Jakarta, June 19 (IBNS) Heavy rainfall, which triggered floods and landslides in Central Java area of Indonesia has left at least 24 people dead, media reports said.

At least 26 people are still missing.

"The natural disasters were triggered by heavy rain which fell since Saturday afternoon until mid night," Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, the head of the Data and Information Center of the BNPB, was quoted as saying by Antara news agency.

Purworejo, Banjarnegara, Kendal, Sragen, Purbalingga, Banyumas, Sukoharjo, Kebumen, Wonosobo, Pemalang, Klaten, Magelang, Wonogiri, Cilacap, Karanganyar and Kota Solo have been hit by floods and landslides in the nation.

Several houses have been reportedly damaged in the area.
