COVID-19: Maharashtra registers 153 new cases

Mumbai: At least 153 new cases of Covid-19 and four deaths were reported in the state, according to the health bulletin on Wednesday.

With the addition of these new cases, the state's cumulative case tally has surged to 78,77,078 and the death toll stand at 1,47,838. 

Meanwhile, 135 cured patients were discharged across the state, taking the overall count of recoveries to 77,28,297.

The state's recovery rate significantly came down to 98.11 per cent and fatality rate 1.87 per cent. 

Presently, 943 active patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, the bulletin added. 

Meanwhile, only a single positive case was reported in Beed district of Marathwada region. 

While no positive cases were reported in the rest of seven districts in the region, the bulletin added.
