Cold wave sweeps Odisha, Udayagiri records 5 degree Celsius

Bhubaneswar/UNI: Cold wave conditions prevailed in almost half of the 30 districts in Odisha with mercury dipped to as low as 5 degree Celsius in  Udayagiri in Kandhamal district.

Met sources said as many as 15 districts in Odisha the minimum temperature plummeted below 15 degrees Celsius.

Udayagiri in Kandhamal district became the coldest place at 5 degree Celsius followed by 7 degree Celsius in Semiliguda in Koraput district and 7.6 degree Celsius in Keonjhar.

Dry weather has prevailed over the districts of Odisha while dense fog has occurred at one or two places over the district of Kandhamal of South Interior Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog has occurred at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack and Kalahandi.

Met sources said the minimum temperatures observed appreciable fall at a few places over the districts of South interior Odisha, and at one or two places over the districts of North interior Odisha.
