Bangladesh: Lightning kills 7 in Dinajpur

Dhaka/UNI: Seven people were killed in two separate lightning strikes in the northern district of Dinajpur this afternoon.

Four teenagers were killed in a thunderstorm in Dinajpur Sadar Upazila's Sub-City No. 8 and three youths in Chirirbandar Upazila at around 3pm, police and locals said.

The deceased have been identified as Sajjad Hossain, 13, son of Ainul Islam of Nishchintpur village under Dinajpur Sadar upazila, Apan, 14, son of Babul Hossain, Hasan Ali, 12, son of Siddique Hossain, Mim Mandal, 13, son of Saju Mandal and Makshed Ali of Dakshin Sukdevpur village under Chirirbandar upazila. Son Nur Islam (24), Samu Mohammad's son Abdur Razzak (23) and Altaf Hossain's son Abbas Ali (22).

Besides, Mominul Islam (13), Atiq (15) and another unidentified teenager of Nishchintpur village of Dinajpur Sadar Upazila were injured.
