DRDO launches Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

New Delhi, Oct 2 (IBNS) Swachh Pledge was administered at the DRDO headquarters in New Delhi and also at various laboratories and establishments of DRDO across the country with the participation of its fraternity.

Launching the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan at Advanced Systems Laboratory in DRDO’s missile complex in Hyderabad, Dr Avinash Chander, Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Director General DRDO said “If we can convert Millions of Tonnes of Waste in the country into useful tangible products by affordable technological means, there is a huge scope for development; rapid advances in technologies provide ample opportunities for bringing in innovations in waste management.”

He further said, “Every individual in the country is morally bound to contribute towards clean, healthy environment and ecosystem.”

He also expressed hope that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan initiated towards cleanliness will transform the outlook of the Nation. Later, he led a cleanliness drive in the areas surrounding the campus.
