Kohima: Yali village, one of the Chang villages under Tuensang district in Nagaland, came forward with a determination to vaccinate all its eligible citizens with the COVID-19 vaccine.

In this regard, a special vaccination drive was launched on Sunday by ADC of Tuensang Ajit Kumar Verma, along with SDO (C) Rohit Singh and SDPO of Tuensang Kanchan Kumar Kandpal at Church premises of Yali village.

The ADC thanked and appreciated the wisdom of the village elders and leaders for coming forward and deciding to vaccinate all the eligible beneficiaries of village.

He also marked it as a first and crucial step towards full coverage of vaccination drive in rural areas and requested other villages of the district to come forward with the same co-operation in fight against COVID-19 through vaccination.

The vaccination drive is a part of the new vaccination strategy to vaccinate all the villages of the district, one by one, under the joint initiative of District Task Force on COVID-19, Medical Department, CBLT office & ECS.

Few of the beneficiaries were vaccinated in the first vaccination drive but it was decided for the whole village to get vaccinated after CBLT in consultation with District Task Force sensitized the village on the importance of vaccination.
