“In view of the rising number of COVID-19 in Assam also we have issued a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in the state. It is mandatory of COVID-19 testing for all passengers coming from Mumbai and Karnataka. If anyone comes here with a test report from there, they will also have to conduct a test here. The Assam Health minister further said that, this time the Rongali Bihu will be celebrated in the state.

“Last time we did not celebrate the Bihu due to COVID-19 pandemic situation. But this time Bihu will be celebrated and it will be our target to conduct more tests and to isolate the COVID-19 patients before Bihu celebration,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
