COVID19 India registers 41322 new COVID-19 cases, PM Modi to visit vaccine facilities today
New Delhi: India registered 41322 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours and 485 deaths,as per Ministry of Health data released on Saturday.
The figures were announced on a day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit several vaccine facilities in the country later in the day.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 93,51,110.
The death toll due to the highly infectious disease now stands at 136200.
India is one of the worst hit COVID-19 countries in the world.
In the past 24 hours, 8759969 people have recovered from the disease which is believed to have originated from China.
There are 454940 active cases.
Meanwhile, Narendra Modi will embark on a 3 city visit to personally review the vaccine development and manufacturing process.
He will visit the Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad, Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad and Serum Institute of India in Pune.
As India enters a decisive phase of the fight against COVID-19, the Prime Minister’s visit to these facilities and discussions with the scientists will help him get a first-hand perspective of the preparations, challenges and roadmap in India’s endeavour to vaccinate its citizens, read a government statement.
