India registers over 50,000 COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India registered 50,357 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health data released on Saturday.

During the same period, 577 deaths have been registered in the nation which houses 1.3 billion people.

There are 516632 active cases in the country at present, a decrease of 4,141 cases in the 24 hours period.

The country has seen the curing of 7819886 people so far.

The death toll due to the highly infectious disease in the past 24 hours now stands at 125562.
