India reports over 70,000 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, tally crosses 61 lakh

New Delhi/IBNS: India, the worst Covid-19 Asian country, on Tuesday reported 70,589 new infections taking the overtally beyond 61 lakh.

Not only has the country reported a drop in the positive cases, the toll has also dipped for the first time after weeks.

In the last 24 hours, 776 people, who were infected with the virus, died taking the toll to 96,318.

The Union Health Ministry has also stated 82 per cent of the total Covid-19 patients have so far recovered, showing a little positive picture to the people of the country.

In the last 24 hours, 11,42,811 samples were tested from across the vast country of 36 states and union territories.
